dorian update

Thought i'd begin with a poster which looks as though its creators were inspired by Harvey 'two-faced' Dent.

Aside from the fact it looks a bit too much like BB's skin is just badly flaking on the right side (give the guy some face cream!) for it to be properly creepy (which was obviously the intent), it is pretty eye catching. Ben Barnes has quite the compelling gaze (though his eyes, I am 110% sure, are not blue in real life). And does it annoy anyone else that the flaking doesn't quite reach halfway (like for instance, doesn't reach the grove in the bum chin?)

Also, as promised, the melodramatic but worth-the-wait trailer for Dorian Gray :

For all the BB haters, you have to admit that this was the role he was born to play: a beautiful, shallow, caddish, ammoral character. He doesn't even really have to try: he just IS. Sigh.

... looking a tad ham-faced, ham faced upper class (a la Easy Virtue) but that's forgivable given the movie. Any ideas?

It's an adaptation of Oscar Wilde's "The picture of Dorian Gray" (shortened to just "Dorian Gray")

Judging by the slightly melodramatic promo posters below it's going to be quite a dark film which will hopefully give BB the chance to break out of the shallow pretty boy mould.

It shall also be interesting to see what the actual picture itself looks like, given all the funky SFX they have nowadays and the starting material - it won't be easy to make Ben Barnes look hideous; will the bum chin be emphasised?? That being said, there'd better be an actual maimed picture - it would be such a let down if it was just psychological or if they showed Dorian's reactions but not the actual picture...

no trailer as of yet despite it being scheduled for release this year but i'll keep you posted.
